Amfora collection.
This is just a fraction of our daily changing stock of more than 1,000 different motifs in antique floor and wall tiles in ceramics.
Under the heading "Museum collection" one can see 19 th century rare floor tiles in ceramics from the period 1860-1880 with prestigious designs including tiles commissioned by the famous Belgian neo-Gothic architect and designer Jean-Baptiste Bethune. These tiles, having been collected for many years, these tiles are now on display in the collection of the Amfora tile museum and are now even for sale.
During the belle-epoque period, magnificent castles, churches, monasteries, castle farms, mansions and coastal villas were built in Belgium and France using high-quality building materials, including floor and wall tiles in ceramics. So artfully designed, so high quality.
They were real stone carpets, imperishable, each one decorated by human hands.
Amfora collected these tiles as well as architectural antiques for 35 years and brought everything together for YOU in Orsmaal (Belgium). As a result, it is now possible to restore, renovate or choose a unique floor to give your home or project the character and appearance you want.
These antique tiles lend your home the class and sophistication of a magical era that we can now only dream of with melancholy. Antique ceramic floor tiles are hard-wearing and can be used both indoors and outdoors. After all, they were made from clay fired at very high temperatures. This is in contrast to the cement tiles that are marketed as replicas today. They are therefore not fired, porous, not wear-resistant, difficult to maintain and therefore unsuitable for outdoor use.
For your purchase, you can visit Amfora during the weekend. On weekdays, we work by appointment so that we can devote sufficient time to each individual customer. If you wish, you will be assisted in making your choice and given all the necessary expert advice.
